We are excited to introduce you to… Micah Timothy Paine. Born June 20, 2022 at 12:10 pm weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. (our smallest baby) and 19 1/2 inches long.

Micah means “Who is like God?” The fertility clinic said we weren’t even candidates for IVF, but God is not limited by test results or a doctor’s diagnosis.

(Kierstyn’s middle name is Michaela which means the same thing. We never thought we’d have another biological child after 10 years of secondary infertility and being told it was not a possibility. And now we have two. We wanted both of their names to be a testament to God’s faithfulness and that He writes the best stories.)

We picked out his middle name, Timothy, with the desire that he would follow in the steps of Timothy in the Bible, “that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:15)

His birth was my easiest by far… I went in to be induced, was already dilated to 6 cm without being in labor, so my OB broke my water, and then we only did a very low dose of Pitocin. Active hard contractions didn’t start until around 11:30 am and there was at least a minute break in between them. I probably only had seven or so really hard contractions — each that really built on one another — before I was complete. I pushed through three contractions and Micah were born at 12:10 pm and he cried a hearty cry almost immediately.

It was a beautiful, non-medicated, quiet, special experience — and it was the answer to so many, many prayers throughout the entire roller coaster pregnancy. Kaitlynn got to be at the birth and the rest of the four siblings got to come up almost immediately after he was born.

I look at Micah and my heart feels so full of gratitude. His pregnancy was by far my hardest, but he was every bit worth it all.

Welcome to our family, sweet Micah. We already love you more than words can express!

P.S. For those who asked about our boy naming pattern: all three of our boys have five-letter Biblical first names and three-syllable Biblical middle names. (Yes, D’s name that his mom gave him follows the pattern, too, that we had long ago decided on! I can’t wait to share his full name after he’s adopted!)
