[ad_1] The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has increased the number of Plus Two seats in all government-run schools from 275 to 400 to accommodate all successful students. It has also revised the admission notice for students of Class 11. The decision comes a day after the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education declared the results of the Madhyamik examination (Class 10). The board recorded a pass percentage of 86.60% with 949,927 students clearing the exam. The council has also lowered the percentage required for admission to the science stream. Instead of a minimum requirement of 45% earlier, students will now be able to apply for the science stream in Class 11 with 35%. A senior Education Department official told The Indian Express that the decision to increase the number of seats was taken with the large number of students who cleared the Madhyamik exam in mind. This will help more students get admitted to Class 11. The official said the past 10 years showed a decline in the number of students opting for science. The decision to lower the minimum pass percentage was made to encourage them to take up science. The board said 1,098,775 students appeared for the Madhyamik exam, held between March 7 and 16. The pass percentage last year was 100%. Ramharipur Ramakrishna Mission High School, Bankura, student Arnab Ghorai and Burdwan CMS School student Raunak Mondal were joint first with 693 marks. As many as 114 students bagged a spot in the merit list top 10. Data shows 488,907 boys and 609,868 girls appeared for the exam. The pass percentage among boys was 88.59% (431,150), while that for girls was 85% (514,718). Among the districts, East Midnapore recorded the highest pass percentage with 97.63%, followed by Kalimpong with 94.27%, West Midnapore with 94.62%, Kolkata at 94.36%, Jhargram at 92.07%, North 24 Parganas at 91.98%, South 24 Parganas at 89.61%, and Maldah at 87.11%. [ad_1] Biological E’s corbevax has become the first vaccine in India to get regulatory approval for a heterologous Covid-19 booster shot. People who are 18 years and above and have already taken two doses of either Covishield or Covaxin can now receive a dose of Corbevax as a heterologous Covid-19 booster. Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical and vaccines company Biological E said on Saturday that the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) had approved Corbevax as a heterologous Covid-19 booster dose to individuals aged 18 years and above. This can be administered after six months of administration of primary vaccination (two doses) of Covaxin or Covishield. Mahima Datla, managing director, Biological E, said this approval would address the need for Covid-19 booster doses in India. BE had furnished its clinical trials data to the DCGI. After a detailed evaluation and deliberations with Subject Experts Committee, it granted approval for administering the Corbevax vaccine. The clinical trial data showed that the Corbevax booster dose provided significant enhancement in immune response and the excellent safety profile required for an effective booster. The company conducted a multicentre Phase III placebo-controlled heterologous booster clinical trial in 416 subjects from 18 to 80 years of age who were previously vaccinated with two doses of either Covishield and Covaxin. The booster dose of Corbevax increased the neutralising antibody titers in the Covishield and Covaxin groups significantly when compared to placebo. The booster shot also resulted in a significant increase in the nAb titers against the Omicron variant, the company said. [ad_1] Kierstyn has been loving her swimming lessons! It’s so fun to see her gaining so much confidence in the water! This boy brings us so much joy! I ended up having an unexpected overnight stay at the hospital a few weeks ago. I’m so grateful that I was able to be released without needing an emergency c-section. When I got home from the hospital, I was motivated to finish out some of the to do’s on my long list of things I wanted to get done before the baby comes — including cleaning out this closet where I’d basically just dumped a bunch of baby things + other random things the past two years. It was so good to have it cleaned out organized and to have gone through the baby things! We’ve been watching Champ more these days while his mom works. Jesse and I took a long walk with Silas and the three littles and Silas rode in the Wonderfold wagon with the littles (it can hold up to 300 pounds!) They’ve been loving the water table! I washed my hair and came out to discover she had somehow found a sharpie and worked on a masterpiece. These two love “helping” with the dishes. Her face so clearly expresses how much she loves him! I came home from being at therapy with D and these two ran to me and were so excited to see me. I look at this picture and my heart feels like it just might burst… to think of how we were told we’d never have more children. And here I stand 9 months pregnant, holding a precious boy we are in the process of adopting and surrounded by two little ones — one who I birthed and one who we got the privilege to foster for 8 months and now get the privilege to love and babysit for regularly, My sweet friend, Kate, took me out to brunch last week to celebrate our soon-to-be-born babe. Two of my sisters came to visit last weekend and we got to meet my sister’s new little baby girl. Kierstyn was enthralled! D was very interested in the baby and it was so fun to watch him be so gentle with her! Silas flew FL with one of his friends and their family this past week. Our good friend, Isabel, graduated last week. Kathrynne practicing for next year. My oldest and my youngest. Kierstyn has a very special relationship with Isabel and is going to miss her so much (as we all will) when she heads off to college in the fall. We went to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana a few days ago. We brought our good friend, Will, with us. Kierstyn loved getting to watch all of the rides! They have a waterpark area and Kierstyn loved getting in the little wading pool. At the end of the day — a little sunburned and tired from walking 15k steps, but it was such a fun day full of memories and laughter and great conversation! Silas living his best life in FL. We took the three littles to the park and D loved this swing. Kierstyn and C just wanted to try to climb up all the slides! I can’t believe it’s just about two more weeks until my induction! We are so grateful that despite many different complications this pregnancy, I’ve made it this far and baby continues to be very healthy each week and passing all the tests. But the film transcended those lines and touched the audience – for humanising the sex workers from the dehumanised lives they survive in. Similarly, the animated short film Reena Ki Kahani which is based on a true story and is available on YouTube to watch, gave out a strong message about the horrors of human trafficking in merely nine minutes and 30 seconds. In the film, Reena, who aspires to become a singer, trusts her friend and leaves her home to go to Mumbai, the land where dreams thrive. However, he sells her into flesh trade and then begins her tale of misery. However, Reena was one of the few fortunate girls who were rescued from the flesh trade network and rehabilitated. The critically acclaimed film directed by Shreedhar BS was screened at the Mumbai International Film Festival this year. Critically acclaimed film Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale was also presented at MIFF 2022. Yet another impactful film on a powerful woman, Hasina is a 2018 historical drama on the life of Hasina, the tenth Prime Minister of Bangladesh, whose family members were assassinated. The film was jointly produced by the Centre for Research and Information and Applebox Films. It was among the 11 special films from Bangladesh, which had been chosen as the ‘Country of Focus’ this year in commemoration of 50 years of its Independence. The NFAI restored version of Satyajit Ray’s Documentary Sukumar Ray was also among the other films that were screened at the festival. During the fest, documentary filmmaker Sanjit Narwekar was honoured with ‘Dr V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award’.
